The road will begin in the preliminary rounds. Reports indicate that the first preliminary round is scheduled for September 4–6, 2026, with the second leg set for September 11–13. If Gor Mahia advance, the second preliminary round will follow in October.

This means Gor Mahia must prepare quickly. The Champions League is not only about talent; it also demands strong travel planning, player fitness, tactical discipline, and squad depth. Kenyan clubs often struggle at this stage because continental football comes with long away trips, unfamiliar conditions, and opponents with bigger budgets.
